RotAngel character expressions

I've been doing some expressions for my characters of RotAngel to not only show what they would look like when making various expressions but to also practice getting used to drawing their faces. I figured not to name what each face is doing since you should be able to tell what expression they are making.

First off I started with Diego, he is the main character and I think he would be interesting to practice first since he lacks some features such as lips. I did cheat and use my artistic license and give him the appearance of eyelids and movable brows.

Next up is Jase Rivers. A pro surfer and Diego's partner. He's a pretty goofy big guy so making his expressions what pretty fun.

Jennifer Yun, also Diego's partner and best childhood friend of Jase. She's very athletic and in fact she is the only girl who played in the football team of her college. Jennifer was the toughest to make expressions for since I have been drawing males more than females lately, so coming up with hers was a very long process. I ended up drawing all her expressions without her hair so I could get it done quickly and more easily without her hair being too much of a distraction. Even through all this she still has the most.

'Not a Happy Camper'

Same idea as the 'aliens don't wear clothes' but now with my predator fan character. I didn't think a predator would be as detailed to work with as an alien...I learned the hard way but I am very happy with the results.

I had made an alien/ xenomorph fan character a while back, and to make fun of my self I decided what would a realistic looking alien look if it looked like the fan character I made.

Hunter of the Bayou

Hunter from Left 4 Dead 2. This took a bit. Hope it's not too dark cause what's light on my screen I noticed might be very dark on a majority of other computer screens.

The hunter was done in Sai but the background was done in photoshop.

Decaying torture

DIEGO! Um, with a bit of flesh. Lemme explain. This is all the doing of a character character of mine, Dubrashka, her master wanted her to capture Deigo to extract energy from him for power. Now see as a powerful necromancer Diego sacrificed his flesh to save his people and to get the power to take out Nidhogg (who later becomes his summon after his revival). Dubrashka was able to use a magic to reverse the results of his power gain and extract some of it. As a result his flesh returns slowly and VERY painfully back to him. Think of having skin and flesh ripped off you but in reverse. Since technically he is undead he doesn't die from just the flesh returning but once his energy powers are drain he can die. Some one is going to find a loophole in it..dammit it's zombie logic >:

I'm currently developing a story called 'RotAngel'. Here is a line up of my main and support character. I have 2 support characters left to add so this will be updated soon. Diego (lead), Jennifer, and Jase are the main characters, the rest are support.

As like most artists, I like to show off how they have developed over the years. So here is a before and after of these guys.

Non Smoking Zone

Wanted to try making a fully rendered image in this progam called Sai Paint tool which is REALLY nice and user friendly. I decided to draw the Smoker from Left 4 Dead 2 since it's my favorite special infected and I'm pretty happy with the end results except the background. I'm thinking of starting to do background pieces (cities and architecture) with no characters in them just to get some practice with it cause it's really starting to become a burden on me.

 Experimenting in a program, Paint Tool Sai again. Decided to use a drawing of a predalien I drew a while ago. Sai is very user friendly btw for something only like $50.
Predalien belongs to 20th Century Fox Films.
